Seller's Description:

Between 1963 and 1967, Danny Lyon studied outlaw motorcyclists for the collection “Bikeriders.” However, Lyon did more than just photograph motorcyclists. He became a member of the Chicago Outlaw Motorcycle Club, traveling with his subjects and sharing their lifestyle in an attempt to glorify and record the life of the American bike rider. His photographs depict the bikers as more than outlaws to explore the often ritualistic sources of their activity. He focuses on their costumes, gestures, and the roles they assume in relation to each other. The result is powerful imagery that sensitively renders human situations with a sense of irony that makes the viewer question their own feelings.
